Situated in the picturesque town of Sassafras, just 45 minutes from Melbourne, lies beautiful Proserpina Cafe’.
On those days where you feel like getting away, or just going on an adventure, Sassafras is really the place to be. With it’s European charm and elegant selection of boutiques and shops, you’ll feel like you’re strolling through the lush surrounds of Germany or France.
Proserpina is a rare gem, which is why Adam and I love visiting. Every product and scrumptious delight is hand made on site, and furthermore made with their very own milled flour. It really gives you that amazing connection to not only what you’re eating, but also to the people that created it. As you walk in you can see the passion they have in making honest food, people happy, and how much they care for the environment. Prosperina is even surrounded by a quirky nursery, selling natives and cottage style plants, as well as the cutest ‘bug hotels’ and ‘fairy garden’ sculptures.
So whether it be rain, hail or shine – which is entirely possible in Melbourne – make sure you go for a drive, and transport yourself to a place of peace, relaxation and European elegance.
Trust us, you won’t be disappointed.
